It’s time to say
"so looooong"
to Selaine.

If (like us) you’d like to say ta-ta to the Tories, then welcome to Taxi 4 Saxby, North Devon’s very own tactical voting campaign to remove Selaine Saxby, our sitting MP.

Whether you’re a lifelong lefty, had enough of Conservative chaos, or maybe you’re just unbelievably undecided, we’re here to say… you are not alone.

But if we split our vote then we risk being one of the only places left in Britain that could elect a Tory MP on July 4th.

Every general election here in North Devon thousands of us split our vote between left-of-centre parties Liberal Democrats, Labour, Green and more.

We risk letting Selaine Saxby slide back in again if we're not careful.

This time could be different though. The Tories not only have right-wing competition from Reform UK but they’re also wrestling with the raging binfire they’ve made of our country since 2010.

It’s going to be close.
Really close.
Every single vote will count.

So here’s what we need to do:

We need to lend our votes to the
LIBERAL DEMOCRAT
candidate:
Ian Roome

Together we can say "ta-ta" to our Tory.

Why vote Lib Dem in North Devon? Learn more on stopthetories.vote
Full disclosure: This site has absolutely nothing to do with the Lib Dems. And some of us would love to vote for other candidates. But if we don’t vote tactically, we’ll get another 5 years of Selaine Saxby.

Why are we calling a
Taxi for Saxby?

The people of North Devon deserve better than the MP we’ve got and this is our ONE chance to do something about it.

Selaine Saxby has been our MP since 2019. You can see her voting record here. In the last 5 years here are just some of the votes she’s made on our behalf:

Voted against improving environmental water quality
Voted against measures to prevent climate change
Voted against improving biodiversity
Voted for a stricter asylum system
Voted against laws to promote equality and human rights
On housing she consistently voted against landlords paying for the costs of building safety works
Voted against higher taxes on banks

Practically every single time this government has told Selaine how to vote, that’s exactly what she’s done. Time and again she’s put her party before our country and done exactly as she’s told by Rishi, Liz and Boris.

Meanwhile what’s happened here in North Devon ? Maybe you've tried to get a doctor’s appointment recently. Or see a dentist. Find somewhere to live? Go for a swim in the sea without crossing your fingers that you won’t end up in deeper s*** than a randy Boris Johnson at a lockdown party?

You get the picture. When pressed about any of this stuff our MP has nothing to offer. She’s made ‘misleading claims’ about clean-water campaigns from Surfers Against Sewage. She’s criticised local businesses that were helping hungry school children. Meanwhile Ilfracombe recently missed out on £24m of much-needed levelling up funding.

We can do better than this.
We deserve better than this.
And this is our chance.

Welcome to the brutal reality of our imperfect voting system

We’re not here to tell you who to vote for. Your vote is precious, right?

So if you really feel like you want to vote Green or Labour, then go ahead. Just… don’t be surprised if we wake up on July 5th with North Devon staying blue.

But if you want to help kick out the Tories after 14 long, long years, here in North Devon the only candidate with enough support to beat Selaine is the Liberal Democrat Ian Roome.

It comes down to simple arithmetic. Labour might - just might - be about to win big in the General Election, but North Devon’s only ever had Liberal Democrats or Conservative MPs.

We don’t like it either, but let’s take it one battle at a time shall we? Kick out the Tories first, then worry about a voting system fit for the 21st century.

We can do it.
Together.

If enough of us are prepared to lend our votes and be smart about this, we can say so long to Selaine and kick the Conservatives out of North Devon.

We can do this North Devon.
Together we can say ta-ta to our Tory.

Help us call a Taxi 4 Saxby.
